1. BirdBath Neighborhood Green Bakery– 200 Church Street New York, NY
An organic bakery that showcases an amazing salad and pasta bar. Try the kale chicken salad and balsamic pasta salad. They offer two sized boxes and stuff it to the brim, with the large (pictured) costing $12 or the smaller size just $9.50. By the way, you won’t regret getting a cookie. But keep in mind, there is no sitting area here.
2. JR Sushi– 86A W Broadway New York, NY
A small, busy sushi place that’s great for pickup or delivery (since the spacing is limited inside). Even vegetarians can enjoy sushi here with the peanut avocado roll or sweet potato tempura. Enjoy miso soup or salad with two rolls for just $10. The fish is fresh and the service is speedy- with these prices and quality JR will become your next go-to.
3. Suzette Crepes– 78 Chambers St New York, NY
A sweet, French crepe shop with a few New York locations. Score a sweet and savory crepe for just $12. The menu probably has a number of your favorite ingredients- it’s definitely worth a look for a lighter lunch day!
4. Mangez Avec Moi Express– 71 W Broadway New York, NY
Experience the flavors of Vietnamese sandwiches, Banh Mi, for just $7. There are three variations for vegetarians, but even meat eaters should try the tofu version! Great for people looking for a spicy, cheap, fast to-go lunch!
5. Puffy’s Tavern Alidori Sandwiches- 81 Hudson St New York, NY
Enjoy Italian meats and cheeses on fresh New York bread made daily from Sullivan Street’s Green Dairy Bakery. All sandwiches run between $9-$11, but after enjoying one you’ll realized you would have paid a lot more. Even better, you can pair it with a beer!
6. Zucker’s Bagels and Smoked Fish– 146 Chambers St New York, NY
There’s nothing wrong with a New York bagel for lunch. Follow the store name’s suggestion and try a bagel with smoked fish or a meat bagel sandwich between $10 and $12, which comes with a pickle and cole slaw. Soups, green salads and fruit salads are also available! Zucker’s also offers wheat bagels and flatz (half the calories) for the more health- conscious customers.
7. TriBeCa’s Kitchen– 200 Church St New York, NY
Enjoy a soup, sandwich and fries for just over $10. And these fries are nothing to joke about- they board the line between curly and wedges. If you’re not as hungry, you can find a panini, omelette or wrap between $8 and $12. If you’re planning a visit downtown, this place takes reservations!

Opt for a half sandwich and cup of soup for just $10.50 at Tom Colicchio’s ‘wichcraft. The TriBeCa location, opened in July 2016, serves up breakfast, lunch and dinner. We can’t wait to try the ham and pear sandwich on cranberry-pecan bread, as well as the mushroom and kale sandwich on ciabatta.
